Lincoln Cents
1979-D 1C MS67+ Red PCGS. It was not a lack of production that made the 1979-D Lincoln cent the major rarity it is today at this grade level. The Denver Mint did strike more than 4.1 billion of them. Examples were simply unsaved. PCGS records 27 MS67 Red submissions, but only two have been awarded a Plus designation, this piece included (11/16). Essentially pristine copper-gold surfaces exhibit a few tiny flecks on the shoulder and left columns. Otherwise, this piece is mark-free and strongly struck.
