Three Cent Silver
1864 3CS MS66 PCGS. CAC. Output of three cent silver coins plunged to just 12,000 pieces in 1864. Choice Uncirculated is the most frequently awarded grade at PCGS and NGC, and Premium Gems such as this are conditionally rare. The shield is well-defined, and only a few of the olive leaves and stars display mild strike softness. Each side is richly toned in olive and violet-gray patina with semiprooflike fields, the surfaces practically pristine save for a few tiny flecks. Bold clash marks occur throughout.
