1872 5C MS66 PCGS. CAC. Nearly unavailable any finer, this Premium Gem 1872 is razor-sharp despite multiple fine die cracks at the peripheries. The date is slightly recut, one of many recut date varieties for the issue. Faint-gold toning appears at the central reverse, although the piece is predominantly brilliant with strong satin luster. The outer curves and serifs of several letters in the reverse legend are missing. Population: 31 in 66 (3 in 66+), 2 finer. CAC: 11 in 66, 1 finer (10/16).
