Liberty Nickels
1912-S 5C MS65+ PCGS. This satiny, high-end Gem 1912-S Liberty nickel is better struck than usual on the obverse stars, but the corn ear to the left of the wreath bow on the reverse is predictably weak. A loupe reveals a few tiny ticks on the portrait that limit the grade. Both sides have faintly iridescent golden-gray toning. The 1912-S is one of the most poorly produced dates in the series with regards to strike and luster, and coins grading finer than the present example are seldom offered.
