Buffalo Nickels
1918/7-D 5C FS-101 XF40 NGC. A key to the series and one of the most sought-after overdate varieties of the 20th century. This is a particularly interesting example. A planchet lamination flake from a previous coin stuck to the reverse die, then was struck into the current coin at the lower-left reverse. Although this piece has seen light circulation, the underlying 7 and other design elements are clearly detailed. Stone-gray with few marks of note.
