Proof Buffalo Nickels
1936 5C Type Two -- Brilliant Finish PR67 PCGS. The Mint did an about-face when satin proofs met with lukewarm collector demand in 1936. Brilliant proofs proved more popular with the public, a lesson soon implemented on all denominations. This brilliant Superb Gem displays chromelike surfaces and a razor-sharp strike on the devices. A few subtle hints of gold toning do not diminish the overall silver sheen and outstanding eye appeal. PCGS reports just eight numerically finer proofs (11/16).
