1939-D 5C Reverse of 1940 MS67 Full Steps PCGS. Little difference in rarity has been found between the coins with the Reverse of 1938 and those with the Reverse of 1940 -- except for the pieces with Full Steps. The Reverse of 1940 pieces are much more frequently encountered and better serve as a representative of this key, low-mintage issue (only 3.5 million were struck). This satiny example has pale lilac and pale rose patina on each side, and as one would expect from the grade, it is free from any detracting abrasions. Population: 5 in 67 (1 in 67+) Full Steps, 0 finer (11/16).
