Seated Half Dimes
1849-O H10C MS63 PCGS. CAC. The 1849-O is a scarce and overlooked issue in the Seated half dime series, especially in any Mint State. The mintage of 140,000 pieces was moderate, and few pieces were numismatically preserved. This example is mostly brilliant with a few crimson speckles on both sides. Struck from heavily clashed dies, a small scrape is noted under star 7 above Liberty's shoulder. Mint luster at the margins adds to the appeal of this conditionally rare, key New Orleans issue. Population: 3 in 63, 9 finer. CAC: 1 in 63, 3 finer (11/16).
