Proof Seated Half Dimes
1859 H10C PR65 PCGS. CAC. The 1859 half dime is a little-recognized single year design subtype. The stars have hollow centers, and the seated Liberty is engraved by Paquet instead of Gobrecht. At least two obverse dies were used for proofs. This is the Normal Date variety. The sharply struck surfaces display rich cobalt-blue, olive-gold, and tan-brown patina. Liberty's cheek shows a vertical lintmark.
