Early Dimes
1800 10C JR-2, R.5, XF40 PCGS. The rarer of the two 1800-dated die varieties. JR-1 and JR-2 are similar, but STATES is more widely spaced on JR-2, and other minor differences emerge beneath a loupe. This is a charming sea-green and straw-gold example. Unimportant marks are scattered, but luster outlines design elements, and emerges from the curls and wings. The reverse is misaligned a few degrees toward 1 o'clock, although only dentil width is affected.
