Early Dimes
1805 10C 4 Berries, JR-2, R.2, AU55 PCGS. A single obverse die and two reverse dies were used to strike 120,780 dimes in 1805. JR-2, identified by the four berries on the olive branch as opposed to five, is by far the more often seen. This is a late die state example with cracks through ERTY and the date. Each side is bright and untoned with remarkably strong device detail. Only the lower left reverse rim is soft. The portrait has a few small ticks near the eye, nose, and chin that should help identify this coin in the future.
