Bust Dimes
1835 10C JR-5, R.1, MS64 PCGS. The 1835 has the highest mintage among all Capped Bust dimes -- a production exceeding 1.4 million coins -- and JR-5 is among the most plentiful varieties seen. These factors, combined with this Choice example's excellent preservation and eye appeal, make it an ideal type candidate. On the present example, the design motifs are almost fully rendered with the only area of incompleteness limited to the four lower olive leaves. Each side is richly patinated in shades of blue, olive, and violet-gray complementing light multicolor iridescence on parts of the reverse. Minuscule scattered marks are undistracting.
