Early Quarters
1805 25C B-3, R.1, AU58 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 5/3, the latest known. Cracks appear on each side but are most numerous on the obverse. Both sides are heavily clashed. Traces of tan-gold toning appear over otherwise brilliant surfaces with hints of luster remaining in the fields. The stars above the eagle's head are incomplete, but the strike is otherwise well-executed. Population (all varieties included): 16 in 58, 22 finer (11/16).
