1806 25C B-2, R.2, AU50 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 3/4. The reverse rim cuds that identify the latest die state have yet to form, but numerous die cracks suggest they are in the offing. This well-preserved example shows minor weakness at the peripheries but it is sharp at the centers, including all but one of the field stars. Dappled olive-gray toning covers each side with silver luster peeking through. A glossy and highly attractive coin, with remarkably few marks and reflective fields beneath the rich patina. Housed in a green label holder.
