Bust Quarters
1831 25C Large Letters, B-5, FS-301, R.3, MS64 PCGS. Repunching of the date is most obvious at the 1s, where a larger digit was impressed over smaller numerals with the serifs of the underdigits clearly visible. The 8 and 3 of the date are also repunched, although less obviously so. Star 11 shows additional repunching. Olive-gray toning covers both sides of this sharply struck quarter, with reddish-gold accents at the borders. A sharp strike is seen throughout, with no significant marks to report and soft mint luster underlying the attractive, original patina.
