1863 25C MS65+ PCGS. CAC. Briggs 2-B. Although silver coins were hoarded from circulation by 1863, the Philadelphia Mint nonetheless struck 191,600 quarters that year. The present fully struck example displays areas of caramel-gold, pearl-white, and forest-green patina. The surfaces are clashed and free from bagmarks. The upper reverse field displays parallel striations. Population: 21 in 65 (1 in 65+), 10 finer. CAC: 4 in 65, 3 finer (11/16).
