A tiny die dot between the second and third vertical stripes in the reverse shield identifies this piece as one of the 13,600 circulation strike quarters of 1879, according to Larry Briggs. Both sides exhibit brilliant satin luster with reflective fields and lovely peripheral gold toning. Census: 27 in 67 (2 in 67 ★, 1 in 67+★), 7 finer (10/16).
