Seated Quarters
1882 25C MS67 NGC. Briggs 1-A. A brilliant and frost-white Superb Gem from a small mintage of just 15,200 circulation strikes. Marks are limited to a two or three light grazes on the frosty fields, but these are visible under a loupe and they are exceedingly minor. Some die clashing, as usual, on both sides appears under magnification. The strike is razor sharp with central details on the stars on either side of the head, and only star 1 lacking central definition. The 1 in the date shows a trace of repunching left of the base. Blazing silver luster covers both sides. Census: 10 in 67 (1 in 67★), 5 finer (11/16).
