Seated Quarters
1891 25C MS66+ PCGS. CAC. The Seated Liberty series concluded in 1891, when the Philadelphia Mint struck 3.9 million quarters. Many coins were saved in high grades as final-year souvenirs, explaining the availability of survivors through this remarkable grade level. However, this Plus-designated and CAC-approved Premium Gem is undeniably high-end for the grade with eye appeal to rival the finest coins known. Luminous mint frost percolates through an overlay of green, blue, and violet patina. The strike is strong with trivial softness on stars 10 through 13. Bold clash marks appear in the fields on each side. Population: 29 in 66 (4 in 66+), 4 finer. CAC: 8 in 66, 3 finer (10/16).
