1871 25C PR68 NGC. Briggs 1-A, the proof die pair. Breen's Proof Encyclopedia recognizes two varieties, one with an earlier date logotype where the 71 nearly touch, another where the 71 are apart. Splashes of soft cobalt-blue, lavender, and russet cascade over both sides of this gorgeous Superb Gem proof, and the design elements are boldly defined. Close inspection reveals impeccably cared-for surfaces, further enhancing the coin's overall eye appeal. Certified in a prior generation holder.
