Standing Liberty Quarters
1917-S 25C Type Two MS66 Full Head PCGS. CAC. Here is a lovely Premium Gem example of this early San Francisco issue. The strike is impressive for the date, most importantly on Liberty's head, the inner shield (displaying horizontal and vertical stripes), the gown lines, and, on the reverse, the eagle's breast feathers and the leading edge of its left (facing) wing. The 1917-S is the first date in the series that is genuinely scarce with a Full Head, and the present coin shows almost never-seen overall definition. Scintillating mint frost illuminates both sides. Only the lightest overlay of golden iridescence is noted as the surfaces rotate under the light. Encased in a green label PCGS holder. Population: 24 in 66 (2 in 66+) Full Head, 9 finer. CAC: 5 in 66, 1 finer (10/16).
