Standing Liberty Quarters
1918-S 25C MS67 NGC. Intense gold, russet, and iridescent toning provides exceptional aesthetic appeal on this high-end 1918-S quarter. Although not fully struck, many design features are well-defined. On the obverse, the head, shield rivets, and Liberty's central torso are predictably weak. The reverse has some weakness on the eagle's body and along the leading edge of the left (facing) wing. This is the most elusive of the three 1918 issues in high grade and is a major rarity at the Superb Gem level. The specialist in the series will recognize the underrated nature of the presently offered example. Housed in a prior generation holder. Census: 6 in 67, 0 finer (11/16).
