Early Half Dollars
1795 50C 2 Leaves, O-102, T-26, R.4 -- Plugged, Improperly Cleaned -- NCS. VF Details. This evenly worn, pleasant Flowing Hair half dollar displays deep olive-gray toning in the fields with lighter hues over the relief elements. A well-plugged hole near star 1 on the obverse and beneath the A in STATES on the reverse blends in well to the lightly cleaned and toned surfaces, but missing berries on that portion of the left wreath arm are the giveaway that the details were reengraved after the hole was plugged. Still, this is a pleasing example of the type for a Details-graded coin.
