Early Half Dollars
1795 50C 2 Leaves, O-110, T-21, R.3, VF35 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 2/1. Berries 9/8, with five inside berries on each side of the wreath. The 9 in the date is widely repunched at the top left outer loop, and the U in UNITED is repunched at the bottom. This is a sharply defined O-110 half, with sharp dentils throughout both sides and strong details on Liberty's flowing hair. Struck from clashed dies, with only tiny marks across the mostly smooth surfaces. A small mark between OF and AMERICA is noted on the reverse. Pleasing warm-gray toning covers both sides.
