Early Half Dollars
1801 50C O-102, T-1, High R.4, VF35 PCGS. Overton-102 is the rarer of the two die marriages for this better Draped Bust date. Silver depositors at the early U.S. Mint preferred the largest denomination obtainable, which meant silver dollars were coined in greater quantity prior to 1805. The present 1801 half dollar exhibits straw-gold and steel-blue toning. Wear is moderate, and there are no distractions.
