1802 50C O-101, T-1, R.3, VF30 PCGS. Tompkins Die Stage 1/2. The 1802 represents a key date among Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle half dollars thanks to a mintage of 29,890 coins. A single die pair was used, the reverse having previously been employed to strike half dollars in 1801. High-grade coins are exceedingly elusive, making this an ideal collectible representative with bold detail at an affordable price. Bright, steel-gray surfaces exhibit thin, wispy pinscratches, but none of them are singularly detracting.
