1806 50C Pointed 6, Stem, O-116, T-20, R.3, AU55 PCGS. CAC. Tompkins Die State 3/5. A Choice About Uncirculated representative of the late die state for Overton-116. Attractive album toning is deepest at the margins of this example, with steel-blue shades merging into reddish-tan and magenta surrounding a silver-gray center. The reverse is more extensively toned in bluish-gray, reddish-tan, and aquamarine hues. Mint luster remains throughout. Multiple die cracks encircle both sides, with die clashing visible despite lapped dies. Faint triangular segments are visible in the field stars. Small abrasions do not lessen the appeal, which is considerable across the surfaces that are well-defined for the variety.
