Bust Half Dollars
1807 50C Capped Bust, Large Stars, 50 Over 20, O-112, R.1, AU55 PCGS. A charming first-year Capped Bust half with the engraving blunder 50 over 20. The diemaker began to enter the denomination as 25C before realizing the mistake. A similar 25 over 50C error occurs on 1822 and 1828 quarters.
This example is tan-gray with gunmetal toning over the high points of the devices. Satiny luster shimmers from the protected areas. Impressively unabraded despite its light circulation.
