Bust Half Dollars
1808 50C O-103, R.1, MS64 PCGS. The obverse is frosty, brilliant, and lustrous, with a mere suggestion of pale-gold patina at the rims. The reverse is equally frosty but displays olive-gold patina at the margins with diminishing intensity until merging with the nearly untoned, silver center. Die erosion suggests an advanced state of the dies, with the outer devices are drawn to the edge, weak dentils, and accompanying metal flowlines. The central motifs are sharp. Population (all non-overdate varieties): 25 in 64 (3 in 64+), 16 finer (11/16).
