Bust Half Dollars
1809 50C Normal Edge, O-106, R.3, MS62 NGC. A die line extending into the eagle's wing from the right corner of the shield and recutting on the N in UNITED identify the Overton-106 variety, which is the only appearance of this reverse. This is the usual later die state, showing a crack along the left-hand stars. This Mint State coin is well-struck and untoned, showing satiny luster and light, scattered abrasions. Census (all varieties included): 22 in 62, 37 finer (10/16).
