Bust Half Dollars
1811 50C Small 8, O-109, R.2, MS63 PCGS Secure. The O-109 variety is readily identifiable by a strong, biplanar die break that travels from the edge along the left side of the first S in STATES, through the scroll, and deep into the left wing shoulder. Smooth and lustrous fields surround sharply struck central elements, while the outer edges are crisply struck as well except where affected by the reverse die crack. Translucent tan-gold toning occupies the margins, yielding to silver centers. A few small ticks and marks do not detract from the Mint-fresh appeal. Housed in a Secure holder. Population (all Small 8 varieties): 31 in 63 (1 in 63+), 33 finer (10/16).
