Bust Half Dollars
1813 50C O-110, R.1, MS64 PCGS. This example displays extremely heavy clash marks on the obverse, including almost all of the scroll beneath the bust and also left and right of the hair. The dies clashed at least three times, as certain individual letters can be seen in triplicate. The shield is multiply clashed above and over the ear. Although the star points are drawn to the edge and the obverse milling is weak, the central elements are sharply struck with near-Gem definition amid frosty luster and peripheral sea-green album toning with pink accents. This exact coin is listed in the second position of Steve Herrman's Autumn, 2016 listing (11/16).
