Bust Half Dollars
1815/2 50C O-101a, R.3, VG10 PCGS. An ideal example of the late die state, with a clashed and cracked reverse die. Tan toning yields to blue overtones across the fields for a pleasing two-tone effect. The margins are sharply detailed for the assigned grade, with heavier wear visible on the central motifs -- the eagle's head, neck, and left (facing) wing shoulder as well as the high points of Liberty's portrait. Strong rims, dentils, and smooth fields add to the appeal.
