Bust Half Dollars
1819/8 50C Large 9, O-102, R.2, MS63 PCGS. CAC. This Select Uncirculated half is an original and pleasing example of the overdate. Night-and-day toning visits the obverse, with the portrait and left-hand field lightly toned in silver-gray shades, opposed by a crescent of rich umber-gray patina that covers the right-hand field and stars. The reverse displays varying hues of tan-gold shades. Throughout, the strike is crisp and the natural eye appeal earns CAC endorsement. Population (all Large 9 overdate varieties): 7 in 63, 9 finer. CAC: 3 in 63, 6 finer (11/16).
