Bust Half Dollars
1820/19 50C Square Base 2, O-101a, R.3, AU58 NGC. The late die state has the bottom loop of the underdigit 9 missing, and that part of the 9 is absent to confirm the O-101a variety. Soft mint luster is widespread beneath attractive autumn-gold toning with blue overtones adding antique charm to this near-Mint example. The surfaces are smooth and nearly mark-free with only a touch of faint, high point wear. An ideal AU58 representative of an important overdate in the Capped Bust series. Census: 31 in 58, 26 finer (11/16).
