Bust Half Dollars
1824/1 50C O-101a, R.2, MS64+ NGC. Reddish-gold iridescence over silver-gray surfaces complements the bountiful luster on this sharply struck bust half. A popular Guide Book entry, the O-101 variety is prized for the clear, overcut 1 beneath a large 4, with the underdigit showing on both sides of the 4's stand. Numerous die cracks at the reverse legend confirm a late state of the dies. There are hardly any distractions on this radiant half. A few tiny abrasions and luster grazes are all that keep it from a full Gem grade. The eye appeal is remarkable.
