Bust Half Dollars
1831 50C O-110, R.2, MS65+ PCGS. The A in STATES is rotated clockwise, and a tiny tine above R in LIBERTY confirms the O-110 variety. The fields of this frosty Plus-designated Gem Bust half dollar are remarkably free of any marks, while small ticks on the portrait join some angled Mint roller marks on the reverse as the only anomalies when viewed with a glass. Faint olive-brown toning joins full silver luster on both sides, with the toning more extensive on the reverse. The Herrman-Parsley Condition Census for the variety shows a single MS66 finer. Population (all 1831 varieties): 62 in 65 (3 in 65+), 4 finer (11/16).
