Reeded Edge Half Dollars
1837 50C GR-23, R.2, MS63 PCGS. A short die crack from the edge to the outermost point of star 10 is the primary pick-up point for this Graham variety. Clash marks beneath the chin make a sparse goatee but a useful confirmation of the GR-23 variety. The outer devices are weakly struck on both sides of the variety, but it is sharp through the centers. Attractive iridescent toning emphasizes bronze-gold and shades of aquamarine, with strong mint luster shining through.
