1839-O 50C GR-1, R.1, XF40 PCGS. CAC. New Orleans type collectors are obligated to purchase an 1839-O half dollar, due to the great rarity of the only other Bust O-mint issue, the 1838-O. The present XF example is toned cream-gray with glimpses of deeper gunmetal patina near the reverse legends. No marks are of any import.
