Seated Half Dollars
1842 50C Medium Date, Large Letters, WB-104, MS62 PCGS. Gold CAC. Warm coppery-gold luster shines beneath slate-blue overtones on this richly patinated Medium Date half. It is the Large Letters style reverse. The strike is notably sharp on the motifs, while marks are few and far between. Housed in a first generation PCGS "old rattler" holder, with the coveted CAC Gold label that indicates the assigned grade is understated. All Seated halves from the early 1840s are scarce in Mint State. Population: 17 in 62, 28 finer. Gold CAC: 6 in 62, 13 finer (11/16).
