Seated Half Dollars
1843 50C Repunched Date, WB-103, AU58 PCGS. The 4 in the date is recut on this variety. Overall, the 1843 half dollar is scarce in Mint State, heightening the appeal of the present near-Mint coin. Luster glows in the fields, and original toning gives the reverse a silvery-gray hue while the obverse displays sea-green, rose, and blue-gray color. The design elements are well-defined despite heavy planchet striations that appear on each side. Population: 22 in 58, 56 finer (11/16).
