Seated Half Dollars
1844 50C WB-101 MS65 NGC. A satiny Gem, with subtle multihued toning and a bold strike. The obverse displays light shades of peach-gold and olive-green with lemon-gold at the borders. The reverse shows a crescent of deep blue and russet-brown color merging into a smooth, pearlescent silver center. A few random, tiny ticks do little to disturb the otherwise unblemished fields and motifs. Mintages of early Seated halves are of little significance in Mint State grades -- all dates and Mints are rare, particularly in Gem condition such as this lustrous and frosty coin. Census: 3 in 65 (1 in 65★), 0 finer (10/16).
