1876-S 50C Open Bud, Very Small S, WB-102, Die Pair 22, R.4, MS66 PCGS. CAC. Type One Reverse, with an open bud. The 1876-S half dollar is elusive in the top Mint State grades. Splashes of cobalt-blue, lavender, and golden-brown toning decorate radiantly lustrous surfaces on this attractive Premium Gem. A well-directed strike brings up excellent definition on the design features. Some light marks on Liberty's upper arm and in the left obverse field are secondary to the multicolor patina and prooflike fields.
