Seated Half Dollars
1888 50C WB-101 MS67 PCGS. CAC. Steel-blue toning circles the borders on each side, while pearlescent peach-gold and silver-lilac shades cover the centers of this lustrous and smoothly frosted Superb Gem half. A sharp strike attends the devices with only a touch of weakness at stars 7 and 8, as well as Liberty's uppermost hair strands. Eye appeal exists in abundance.
In lesser grades, the 1888 is one of the more available late-series, low-mintage Seated half dollars. That all stops at the MS67 level, where neither service reports a numerically finer example. Population: 0 in 67, 0 finer. CAC: 6 in 67, 0 finer (11/16).
