Barber Half Dollars
1892-S 50C MS65 PCGS. In Very Good and lower grades, the 1892-S is the key date of the series, if varieties such as the 1892-O Micro O are excluded. A number were nonetheless saved in AU and Uncirculated grades, perhaps set aside as a new design during the first year of the Barber series. Gems are unquestionably rare. This high grade example has a sharp strike and light almond-gold toning. The reverse appears pristine, and the obverse shows only minor imperfections. Certified in a green label holder. Population: 25 in 65 (8 in 65+), 4 finer (10/16).
