Barber Half Dollars
1894-O 50C MS65 PCGS Secure. Like many other branch mint issues in the series, the 1894-O Barber half dollar becomes a condition rarity in MS65 and is exceedingly rare any finer. This remarkable coin displays prooflike fields that produce subtle cameo contrast with a hint of light champagne color. Close study with a loupe fails to reveal any noteworthy abrasions. The strike is weak, as usual on this New Orleans issue, showing incompleteness on the right-hand obverse stars as well as the eagle's right (facing) shoulder and talons, and the associated shield corner and fletchings. Population: 9 in 65, 7 finer (11/16).
