Barber Half Dollars
1909-S 50C MS67 NGC. This high-end coin is sharply struck and shows not even a single distracting abrasion. Slightly variegated orange-gold surfaces feature abundant luster in the fields. Like virtually all S-mint Barber half dollars, this issue is scarce not only in Gem condition, but across the board in Mint State. Produced in respectable numbers (1.7 million pieces), the 1909-S was apparently not widely saved at the time of issue. The present coin is the single finest seen at NGC (9/16).
