Barber Half Dollars
1913 50C MS65 PCGS. Like the 1910, 1914, and 1915 half dollars, the 1913 is a key-date in the Barber series, from a low mintage of only 188,000 coins. Although a single point below the Hugon coin, Dale Friend's 1913 half dollar is equal to the Price coin and finer than the Pryor coin. Eliasberg had a proof.
The Gem Dale Friend coin is brilliant and lustrous with frosty silver surfaces and only a trace of pale gold toning on each side. It is a bold strike with weakness right of the shield and at the arrow feathers, usual locations of weakness on nearly every Barber half dollar. Population: 15 in 65, 6 finer (11/16).
