Barber Half Dollars
1914-S 50C MS65 PCGS. CAC. The 1914-S (nearly 1 million coins struck) is more accessible than the low-mintage 1914. It is often the target of collectors assembling a date set of Barber half dollars. The issue becomes conditionally challenging at this high grade level, and only a handful of Premium Gems are known finer. Softly frosted and fully brilliant, this Gem offers bold design details on the stars, forecurls and tailfeathers. The right shield-wing juncture is well-defined. Eye appeal is tremendous. Encapsulated in a first generation holder with CAC approval. Population: 17 in 65 (2 in 65+), 9 finer. CAC: 8 in 65, 9 finer (10/16).
Ex: Norweb Collection (Bowers and Merena, 11/1988), lot 3663.
