Proof Barber Half Dollars
1894 50C PR66+ NGC. CAC. Ex: Rev. Dr. James G.K. McClure. The 1894 proof half dollar is fairly plentiful in the context of the series, but Superb Gem examples are rare. This high-end PR66 coin remains within the grasp of many collectors. The fields are deeply reflective, and the satiny motifs are well-struck. The obverse displays sun-gold toning with daubs of blue around the borders, while the reverse has mostly mint-green and lemon-gold color. Census: 26 in 66 (1 in 66+), 22 finer. CAC: 11 in 66, 4 finer (11/16).
